UCR board submitted a proposed reduction in 2019 fees

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration approved the new reduced fees in 2019 and 2020 for interstate motor carriers and brokers to pay to the Unified Carrier Registration Plan. The UCR board submitted a proposed reduction in 2019 of 18.6% from 2017 levels and then a 9.9% reduction from the 2017 fees for 2020 and subsequent years. The UCR Plan collects and distributes its fees to 41 participating states, but is restricted by federal statute to a maximum money that it can collect. The reductions result from over-collections the UCR has accrued in recent years. The deadline to pay the 2019 fees is March 31, with 2020 UCR due later this year by December 31.
