President's Decision on California's Waiver

President Trump revoked California's waiver to regulate the state's air pollution and some are wondering if his decision
will cause current truck and trailer regulations to be rolled back. Legal experts think that even if the President is
successful, the current rules for truckers will stay in place. The main impact would be in nullifying future attempts to
implement stricter fuel emission standards. Also, manufacturers and state citizenry are not likely to support rolling back
air quality rules especially considering the current concern about climate change. The main reason the President most
likely revoked the waiver is because The Clean Air Act gives California special authority to enact stricter air pollution
standards for motor vehicles than the federal government.
