The era of auditors coming to a carrier's office to do a compliance review may be changing this year. The

company is looking into emailing more documents and then having offices go to a federal or state office with

records to finish the process. FMSCA wants to expand "off-site safety audits" to all 50 states by the end of this

year. However, if carriers have known safety issues or high scores in multiple CSA basics they will still have on-

site auditing visits. The off-site audits have many benefits for the FMCSA. These audits will take 33% less time to

complete, reduce company travel costs by 58%, and increase audit efficiency by 20%.
