FMCSA allows drivers to be given medical cards
FMCSA will allow Type 1 insulin-dependent diabetic drivers to be given medical cards by the agency’s approved medical examiners. A new form needs to be completed by the driver’s treating physician showing the driver maintains a stable insulin regimen and has proper control of his diabetes. The rules’ effective date is later this year.
