Driver Shortage a Myth
A report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has released information
proving that driver shortages are a myth. Many people see commercial driving
as a blue collared job, when in reality it is actually a specialized occupation.
There is a big distinction between the two because people believe that in
order to get more blue collared workers you just have to increase the
minimum wage for that job. However, since trucking is a specialized
occupation, it is harder to get workers because there are a lot more skills
needed to become a driver, which leads to the shortage of drivers.
